Signature carpet takes your flooring from workable to homely. A carpet softens space, absorbs noise and creates a cosy, lived-in feel. But that’s not all. Carpet flooring also retains airborne dust particles significantly improving indoor air quality. They’re comfortable underfoot and available in a range of colours, various textures and fibres to suit your home design needs. Another advantage of choosing carpet flooring for your home is reducing the risk of slipping. Even in the event of a slip or trip, a softer landing reduces the chances of an injury significantly.  Now, if you’re in the market, looking for the right floor covering to install in your home – Signature offers options in three key categories.

Types of carpets
  • Pure Wool Carpets: Wool is a natural, hypoallergenic and naturally fire-resistant fibre. With proper maintenance, a wool carpet will typically last a lifetime.
  • Nylon Carpets: You’ll choose from two high-quality options – white nylon and solution-dyed nylon (SDN) carpets. The only difference is that SDN is created by adding colour to the fibre while in liquid form v/s white nylon which is coloured after the thread is made. As a result, these carpets offer extensive colour options, handle wear and tear beautifully and are exceptionally fade and stain resistant. This makes them particularly well suited for busy homes with kids and pets.
  • Polyester Carpets: Choose polyester carpets for their budget-friendly and colourful options. You’ll also enjoy how soft they feel. Polyester carpets are advantageous as they also repel liquids. Best suited in low-traffic areas of your home.

Factor where you’ll be laying the carpet, and the type of footfall the room will endure. For instance, a softer pile is ideal for a luxurious feel in the bedrooms. A dense, tight, low-pile or loop carpet could be better suited in high-traffic areas. Make density a priority if you’re looking to lay it in a room with high footfall, such as a hallway or stairs. Check fabric weight, and don’t forget to create a price estimate before you go shopping around. We’ve put together an extensive carpet flooring buyer’s guide to help you make the right choices for your home. Looking for complementing floor coverings in your home? Why not give vinyl flooring a try? It’s resilient, robust, waterproof and soft to walk on – making it perfect for today’s busy lifestyle.
