A Reimagining of a Modern Country Club

The newly refurbished Frenchville Sports Club reimagines the traditional country club as a contemporary destination, designed to attract a broader demographic while enhancing the way the venue operates.

Led by BSPN, the project began with a detailed master plan that reconsidered the club’s spatial and functional layout. A holistic approach to planning creates intuitive circulation and open transitions between spaces, allowing patrons to move naturally throughout the venue while maintaining a sense of connection between each distinct experience.

Working alongside BSPN, Signature Studio developed five unique custom Axminster carpet designs across six individual areas. Each design responds to the identity and function of its space, while a considered relationship between pattern, colour and materiality creates continuity throughout the broader interior.

Each custom carpet design draws inspiration from the Art Deco era, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. Pattern and texture respectfully reference the character of the era, while a fresh Australiana-inspired palette brings warmth, vibrancy and a distinct sense of place.

Gaming Lounge

Large-scale green palm leaves make a bold statement, while a geometric deco-inspired overlay adds dimension and depth. Botanical in spirit and sophisticated in expression, the design creates a distinctive character for this space.

Dusk Lounge & Aromas Café

Warm, moody terracotta tones set the scene for the live music and cocktails space. Oversized tropical foliage reappears in a softer palette, while structured arches introduce a subtle Art Deco influence. Layered together, the elements create a rich and atmospheric composition unique to the space.

Luxe Lounge

Soft tints of terracotta and eucalyptus hues come together in a contemporary interpretation of Art Deco geometry. Refined and relaxed, the design brings a quiet sophistication to this setting, creating an inviting environment to settle in and unwind.

Embers Bistro

A familiar design takes on a new expression in the family-friendly bistro area. The botanical motif and arches are reimagined in soft eucalyptus hues, bringing a fresh, grounded character to the space while maintaining a considered connection to the adjoining Dusk Lounge and Aromas Café.

Acacia Function Room

Bold in scale and expression, the classic Art Deco fan motif is reimagined as a striking feature across the function space. Earthy eucalyptus greens set against a light neutral base, balancing the large-scale pattern and creating a design that feels confident, contemporary and distinctly connected to the broader palette.

Across six distinct spaces, five bespoke Axminster designs come together to create a flooring story that feels both individual and connected. Through considered shifts in pattern, scale and colour, Signature Studio has translated the overarching design vision into a collection of carpets that help shape the identity and experience of each space. The result is a cohesive yet characterful interior that celebrates custom design and gives Frenchville Sports Club a distinctly contemporary sense of place.
