A RETRO REFRESH | A unique country motel in Armidale, NSW, Alluna Motel has been given a fresh new identity with a playful nod to the 1970s.
For the flooring, the project began with an existing design from Signature Floors’ Ready-to-Wear Encore Collection of Axminster carpets. Rather than designing entirely from scratch, Signature Studio reworked the original colour palette to complement the motel’s retro-inspired interior scheme, giving an established pattern a completely new personality.
The custom colourway brings warmth and character underfoot while retaining the detail and durability of Axminster carpet, an important consideration for the demands of a busy motel environment.
The result demonstrates that custom design doesn’t always need to begin with a blank canvas. Starting with an existing design and adapting the colour palette can create a tailored flooring solution that feels entirely at home within its surroundings.
