Wotton + Kearney, a specialist insurance law firm, have recently undergone a stylish refurbishment of their Bourke Street offices in Melbourne, VIC. They commissioned Incorp Interior Designs to create a look which compliments their first class service.

Project Brief:
- To provide a bold look to the front-of-house that continued into the boardroom. It was important to the client that when the glass operable wall between the boardroom and reception was opened up for regular seminars and functrions, that therr be a sense of connection and flow.
- The original idea was an interior that reflected a Melbourne look and feel. With the images of Spencer St station as a backdrop, the tram with its tracks and intersections symbolises a lineal 'crossroads' as could be interpreted from the W+K logo with the 'plus' symbol.
- At first Incorp has proposed the Wind tile to be laid in a lineal fashion to emphasise the overall concept, but the installed quarter turned installations has a more dramatic effect.
Project Challenges:
- Due to budget restraints the original idea of a printed or custom rug for reception was shelved and the Wind tile for cost and (modular) flexibility was favoured
Sustainability Requirements:
- No Green Star rating required but designer wanted to achieve a best practice rating
Why Signature Floorcoverings:
- Great colourways with Wind that matched the W+K corporate colours
- With stock being available, it suited the short lead times
- Great cushion comfort with the Wind range was important
Client Feedback:
- The client is delighted with result and believes that the quarter turned tile effect looks fantastic
