ANZ Banking Group, Australia's largest bank has a history dating back over 170 years. ANZ will relocate from various Melbourne based facilities to a central head office in Melbourne's newly constructed Docklands precinct in 2009.
This contemporary building is in a premium position on the banks of the Yarra River, with a newly constructed Collins St address. This area is soon to become the new financial district of Melbourne.

Project Brief:
- To match specific PMS colours as the patterns in the walls extended to the paint on the wall
- Architect wanted to create a unique design which had never been achieved before, in order to achieve this, Signature Floorcoverings arranged for the water jet cutting of every tile used in the creative design, which then had to be assembled like a jigsaw puzzle in a specific sequence
- To be used throughout most of the lift lobby areas in the building which accounted for approx. 6,000sqm
Project Challenges:
- The final water jet cut pieces had to be assembled like a jigsaw puzzle with each piece numbered to fit into a specific area. A detailed plan had to be followed in order to achieve final designs. A lot of precision and accuracy was required to perform this comprehensive task.
Sustainability Requirements:
- The designer and builder wanted to develop a green flooring solution in their 6 Star Green Building in custom rubber colours.
